The Story Behind the Stories

How watching a kid play Roblox became 25 bedtime stories.

Noobsi in Steal a Brainrot is a children's book of 25 bedtime stories about the Roblox game Steal a Brainrot. Written for kids aged 8-13, it is the first book with real Roblox in-game chat screenshots and Discord conversations rendered with authentic visual aesthetics. It contains 15 characters, 82 glossary terms, and is available in English, Spanish, and Catalan.

How Noobsi was born

The idea came from my son Roc. One day he told me: "Dad, we should write a book about Steal a Brainrot." He had been playing for months and was bursting with stories — trades gone wrong, bases raided at the worst moment, friends made in the middle of chaos. He wanted to put all of that into a book.

We've been playing Roblox together for years, him and me. It's something we share. Playing together helped me understand his world from the inside — not just watching from the couch, but being there. Learning the slang, the mechanics, the social dynamics. And most importantly, it gave me the chance to teach him things that matter: how to handle a scam without panicking, how to tell the difference between a game and reality, how to deal with conflict when someone steals your stuff or breaks a promise.

This book was born from that. From real nights playing together, real conversations, and real lessons learned through a game. The characters are inspired by real players Roc met. The mistakes are the ones he actually made. And the emotions — the frustration, the excitement, the "one more game" at midnight — are all real.

Why we believe in playing together

Roblox has been demonized in the media, and honestly, it's not as bad as they make it sound. Like everywhere else, there are good things and bad things — but safety comes from being present, not from banning. Forbidding your kids from using these platforms is worse, because you're cutting them off from an incredibly imaginative world. The real answer is to be there with them. Set limits, yes. But also play together, see the good and the bad side by side, and teach them to navigate it.

Roblox has thousands of wildly creative experiences where imagination runs free. I remember when Roc was very little and we were already playing together — simple games like finding characters or playing hide and seek. That was years ago. The platform grew, he grew, and we kept playing. That shared time is what made this book possible.

What the book teaches

Online safety

Recognizing scams, protecting your account, and knowing when not to trust a stranger — learned through Noobsi's mistakes.

Patience and perseverance

From failed trades to the 24-hour challenge, Noobsi learns that the best rewards come to those who don't give up.

Fair play and ethics

The game is called "Steal a Brainrot." But is stealing always right? Noobsi faces this question and discovers his own answer.

Friendship and teamwork

Wind, DaVinci, RocVibabot — friends who help, challenge, and support each other through every adventure.

Behind the scenes

Every story is based on real gameplay sessions and real game mechanics from Steal a Brainrot. Noobsi lived every one of these adventures, and we made sure every detail rings true for kids who play the game. The in-game Roblox chats and Discord conversations are rendered with their authentic visual aesthetics — it's the first book to bring these formats to the printed page.

The glossary at the end was born from parents asking "what does that mean?" during bedtime reading. It now covers 82 terms so any adult can follow along.
