The nighttime boost that makes placed eggs grow thirty times faster without spending Robux. It doesn't open them instantly: an egg with a long wait left might still be closed when the night ends.
The seventh zone. A dark ocean floor with a huge guardian. Some of the heaviest eggs in the game come from here.
A special event with changes and boosts activated by the admins. The effects and Admin Treadmill last a little while; the pets you earn don't disappear when it ends. Cherry Blossom was added at the end of the first event and stayed as a permanent zone.
A special treadmill that can appear on your plot during an Admin Abuse. It gives way more speed per step than the normal one, but it's temporary. It lasted a few minutes in those games, but the duration varied.
"Away From Keyboard." A player who's online but isn't in front of the screen. Their avatar freezes in the least convenient spot possible. jaxolot is a specialist.
An item that can knock another player back and make them drop the egg they're carrying. That shove is called knockback. You can't use it inside the safe zone.
The mutation the Sakura Incubator applies to an egg using crystals from Great Bloom. It's the normal result. The rare one is Spirit Bloom.
The tenth zone and the last one available in the games in this book. All pink, Japanese-styled, with a Kitsune guardian. This is where the Sakura tree and the incubator are.
The Pet Index button for collecting the reward from a new pet. It gives money and speed. It works even if you already sold the pet: what counts is having discovered it.
The place on your plot where you collect the money your pets have earned. The counter goes back to zero and starts filling up again.
Some of the rarity tiers in the book. `Common` is the most ordinary; `Divine` became the highest tier with the Cherry Blossom update. Size or glow alone can't tell you the rarity.
The ninth zone. Planets, a black hole in the background, and a very fast guardian. In these games, its recommended speed sign read `700M`: seven hundred million.
A Cherry Blossom pet. Handing one over wakes the sleeping Sakura tree and unlocks the incubator. The Crane is gone for good. Size makes no difference, so you may as well sacrifice the small one.
The button that puts your Sakura crystals into the incubator and raises the charge.
The third zone. A desert with a scorpion guarding the eggs. It comes after Lake and before Jungle.
The highest rarity since the Cherry Blossom update in the book. It has nothing to do with the `Golden` mutation, even though both words sound impressive.
The dragon event that was part of the first Admin Abuse. Each player carried eggs to the delivery point to improve their personal reward. There were waves of fire and shelters along the route, separate from the normal map's safe zone. After that came the fight for the Dragon's Egg.
A single egg that spawned for the whole server after the delivery stage of the Dragon Event. It was separate from each player's personal reward. There was only one, it weighed a ton, and everybody went for it.
A button that automatically selects and equips your highest-earning pets, including ones stored in your inventory. It can replace a favorite on your active team without selling it. It doesn't care which one you like best.
A very high rarity. If someone promises you a free Eternal in exchange for leaving the game and checking a link, that's not a gift.
On-screen notices about some of the eggs that appear: `A Secret Yeti Egg spawned in Snow`. This message gives the species, rarity, and zone. Others mention a mutation. It doesn't give coordinates or point to the exact egg on the ground, and it doesn't announce every good egg.
The first zone. Woods with a chicken for a guardian. Dog, Bird, and Fox come from here. Completing all three Index entries unlocks the Wooden Bat.
A machine that turns three pets of the same species into a new egg. All three disappear, it costs money, and it doesn't guarantee anything better. The instruction says: `Bring three of the same pets to fuse. Better pets give more luck`.
"Good Game." Something you type at the end, even if you lost. Coming from RocVibabot, it's worth more than a speech.
Mutations. They change how an egg or a pet looks and usually improve what it produces. They are not a rarity tier. A `Golden` egg can have an `Epic` pet inside.
A Cherry Blossom event that lasted five minutes and returned every half hour in the book's version of the game. Once you've unlocked the incubator, you can break crystallized trees with your bat and use their crystals to mutate an egg.
The creature sleeping beside the eggs in every zone. It wakes up the second you press `Steal` and chases you to the safe line. Each zone has its own: a chicken in Forest, a scorpion in Desert, a Kitsune in Cherry Blossom.
Opening an egg. When the timer hits zero, the `Open` button appears.
The list of every pet in the game, sorted by zone. Each new species you discover marks a slot and leaves a reward waiting. Completing a whole zone unlocks a bat.
An optional shortcut that costs Robux and lets you skip an egg's remaining growth time. You can also wait without paying. The nighttime `30x` makes that wait shorter, but doesn't erase it all at once.
The fourth zone. Lots of plants and a tiger guarding the eggs. It's between Desert and Snow.
A pet's or an egg's weight. It shows on the info card. It's a separate stat from rarity and from the money it makes, even though all three sit on the same screen.
The shove you get from a hit. It can make you drop your egg; if it hits the ground, another player can pick it up before you do.
Loss. Something that went wrong.
The second zone, named after a lake. It's between Forest and Desert. Its eggs can hatch a Turtle.
A temporary offer of eggs bought with Robux. In the book's version, Strawberry Elephant had a `1%` chance. You could get duplicates, and a run of bad luck didn't guarantee a prize.
The Sakura Incubator button that applies Bloom or Spirit Bloom to an egg. In these games, you needed at least `100%` charge to use it. Once mutated, that egg couldn't go through the incubator again.
In the games in this book, night refreshed the eggs across the map and sent players exploring the zones back to the start. Waiting beside a nest didn't give you a head start. See also `30x`.
A new player. Everyone has been one. On my first afternoon I ran in a straight line with an egg and a chicken behind me.
The button that appears when an egg finishes growing. You have to press it: the egg doesn't open by itself.
The Sakura Incubator interface. From there you pick an egg with the `+`, deposit crystals, and press `Mutate`.
The part of your plot where you place eggs to grow and pets to make money. It has a limited number of slots.
A button for placing an egg. In the pen, it fills a free slot and starts growing. In the book's version, you couldn't then take it out to bring it to the Sakura Incubator. The incubator also uses `Place Egg`, but to prepare a mutation, not to start normal growth.
Your patch of land. It has the treadmill, the pen, the collection spot, and whatever upgrades you buy.
The eighth zone. Dinosaurs. The Triceratops and the T-Rex come from here.
The number on each zone's sign. It's a guideline, not a locked door: you can go in with less. Zigzagging can help you escape. You can also have plenty of speed to spare and still lose the egg.
Short for "Random Number Generator." It's the luck behind results like which pet hatches from an egg. A run of bad luck doesn't mean your next try will be better.
Roblox's virtual currency. You can buy it with real money; it isn't the cash your pets earn. Supposed Robux generators are scams. Don't open links from strangers promising to give you Robux or share your password with them.
The line marks the entrance to the safe zone beside the plots. Crossing it with an egg stores it in your inventory and ends the chase. Until then, someone can steal it along the way. You can't use your bat inside: `Cannot use items in the safe zone`.
What crystallized trees drop during Great Bloom. In those games, a big tree gave around thirty; a small one, around five. You deposit them at the incubator.
The machine at the Cherry Blossom tree. You unlock it by handing over a Crane and use it to mutate an egg with crystals collected during Great Bloom.
A trick to steal your information, account, or items. It might start with a gift and end with someone asking you to leave Roblox or open a link. You don't have to try the offer to turn it down. A button inside a game doesn't prove an offer is safe either.
Selling a pet. The money lands instantly. The pet doesn't come back.
Switching servers hoping to find different eggs or fewer rivals, with no guarantee of either. In the book's version, species and positions matched, but sizes could vary. If you'd already collected an egg, it stayed collected for you in other servers until the next egg refresh.
The fifth zone. Snow and a Yeti guarding the eggs. It's between Jungle and Volcano.
The rare Great Bloom mutation. In the book's version, without luck boosts, the maximum `150%` charge gave a `5%` chance. Charge and chance are different stats. Maximum charge doesn't guarantee Spirit Bloom.
The button that appears when you get close to an egg. Pressing it puts the egg in your hands and wakes the guardian. Both at once.
An upgrade that multiplies the speed you earn training on the treadmill. It does nothing while you stand still.
An item a player places on the ground to stop someone carrying an egg. It's usually exactly where you most want to step: the short route, the narrow stretch, right in front of the finish.
The running machine on your plot. Every step you take on it adds speed. It lets you train without spending Robux. The Pet Index also rewards you with speed.
One of the creatures in the Limited shop. It can come up three times in a row. I speak from experience.
An upgrade that adds one slot to your pen. It's the least exciting purchase in the game. But if you've got a good pet sitting idle in your inventory, that extra slot can earn you a lot.
The sixth zone. A volcano with lava and fiery eggs. It's between Snow and Abyss Ocean. Its eggs can hatch a Phoenix.
Win. Something that went well.
The first bat in the game. You unlock it by completing all three Forest species in the Index.
Changing sides while you run instead of going straight. It can help you dodge the guardian. It isn't a fixed sequence: you have to match every turn to where the guardian is coming from.
